Tarte High Performance Naturals formed in 1999, has climbed the beauty ladder in the recent years. Tarte is well known for it’s unique formulation and high quality ingredients, such as colored clay, Amazonian powder, goji berry extract, maracuja, and acai. Tarte is as self proclaimed “eco chic” cosmetic line, they offer healthy makeup in radiant packaging.
Tarte wants good for you to look darn well good, and they have really won my favor in the past two or so years.
Here are some of their products, that I have loved, used up, repurchased and just all around adored…
1. TARTE Amazonian Clay 12 Hour blush in Peaceful – $26
This is my go to peachy pink/red blush, it applies smoothly, and does not cake, slide or budge on my combination skin. It has a tinge of shimmer but nothing garish or cheap about it. I have heard this compared to Nars Orgasm in terms of being universally flattering, I can not entirely attest to that, but I do love it. Usually, when I wear this (very often) I recieve bouquets of compliments. I think for the price, it goes above and beyond expectation. I highly recommend for neutral cool or light yellow undertoned completions.
2. Tarte Maracuja Oil 1.7 oz -$46, 3.4 oz $75
I did not just go on a buying spree and pick up a $75 dollar skin care item, I carefully weighed out this purchase. I have an incredibly dry t-zone and nasal region, acne prone skin, dark spots, and occasionally oily patches. My skin is the definition of combination/sensitive skin. I recieved a deluxe sample of this last year from Sephora and I used it sparingly on my troubled regions as an overnight treatment, the results were overwhelmingly. This did not leave a greasy film or residue on my skin, it left my dry patches mousiterized, firm and glowing. I recommend trying a roller ball of this product which is $17, before making the decision if this is right for you.
3. TARTE Amazonian Clay 12 Hour full coverage foundation (Light Neutral) -$38
This is a reasonably priced higher end foundation, it has a semi matte finish and is true to it’s promise of being full coverage. I have never had a problem with this foundation caking or settling into fine lines. I do have to reiterate, you really must moisturize with this. It has an excellent finish but can be drying, I take the bad with the hella good.
4. TARTE Park Avenue Princess Bronze & Glow Liquid Bronzer and Cheek tint -$32
This is a very innovative product, I had never seen a liquid bronzer and I already adore their matte Park Avenue Princess bronzer, so I thought I would give this a whirl. I love the bottom cheek stain so much, it pains me it is not offered in a full size, as for the liquid bronzer it is miraculous, it blends flawlessly into my foundation. This may be the most natural looking contouring product I have used. I reach for this so often. Will repurchase.
5. TARTE Lights, Camera, Lashes Statement Mascara – $23
All of the photos are property of Tarte
I recieved two deluxe samples of this in the past year and have worked my way through both quite happily. I will purchase the full size more than likely when I don’t have a surplus as I do now. This mascara which is beautifully packaged, gives me voluminous lashes, lasts mostly all day, and is not clumpy. I have used this with the tarte lash primer and curler and believe that leads to awesome results. I probably will not purchase anytime soon, I have 3 or so mascaras to work through, but its on the back of my mind.
